Information for patients following severe weather event
The severe weather event in South East Queensland has temporarily disrupted some of our services in the region, mainly due to staff and doctors being impacted by floodwaters and unable to attend the workplace.
We are in the process of contacting any patients whose treatment needs to be deferred where it is clinically safe to do so. Please also be aware that there may unfortunately be short notice of these deferments; we apologise for this and we are doing everything we can to minimise the impacts.
If you are a patient due to come to hospital but you are affected by flooding, we encourage you to contact the hospital or your treating doctor as soon as possible to discuss your specific circumstances.
Patients who have not already been contacted by the hospital and wish to clarify their scheduled surgeries and treatments, are also welcome to call the hospital.
Thank you for your support at this time. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
The staff and doctors of Short Street Day Surgery would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your family. Our aim is to provide an excellent standard of service and to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The website has been developed to provide you with as much information relating to the hospital’s facilities and services, and your admission and stay here.
We recognise that admission to hospital and surgery can be a daunting experience for patients. It is a time when a lot of information is given verbally. When we are given so much information we often think of questions not at the time, but later.
We are here for any questions or concerns you may have and we would appreciate your feedback. We continually monitor this feedback, and make improvements accordingly, so your input is important to us. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Short Street Day Surgery.
